Being an Engineer today
Engineers today, both men and women, have not only technical skills but also human qualities.
On the one hand their role is to design, co-ordinate and implement technical solutions within the time limits and budget given and according to the existing regulations. They will provide a practical solution to an idea or concept requested, ensure that a corresponding competitive product or service is developed and that this will continue over time.
They must also be capable of managing teams made up of members from diverse sociological and professional backgrounds. They often work in an international context and need to show their ability to listen and adapt.
Their skills are the result of technical, economic, social and human knowledge and a solid scientific culture.
Engineering is a profession suited to women as well as men and in identical conditions.
For more than a century ECAM engineers have been trained to be multi-skilled. They have a transversal and very wide vision of their profession which they can put into practice in an international context.
