Energy, Exploitation and Maintenance

Created in 2013 to respond to industry’s needs, the ECAM Energy, Exploitation, and Maintenance program prepares the engineers of tomorrow to work with industrial projects and consider installation safety risks in the energy sector. This program is given in partnership with the ITII.

Recruitment is open to candidates with a diplôme de technicien supérieur:

  • DUT : GEII, GIM, GMP, GTE, MPH, SGM
  • BTS : ATI, CIM, CIRA, CPI, CRSA, Electrotechnique, Maintenance des systèmes option B
  • Prépa : ATS, TSI
  • API ECAM : Engineering Foundation Year

Admission Procedures

  1. Request an application at  itii-lyon.fr.
    (After approval by the ITII de Lyon, applicants will receive login information to continue the online application process)
  2. Application Form
    The application form must be completely filled out and given with all requested documents before March 7, 2018 on the ITII de Lyon’s website.
    Application screening is carried out by ECAM Lyon and interviews are organized with the participation of the ITII de Lyon 
  3. Applicants retained after the application review go on to take admissions tests.
    • Written tests on: mathematics, mechanics, electrical, logic, and English.
    • Individual interviews
      Students interning abroad can receive different times to take these tests/.
  4. The admissions jury decides on candidates
  5. Final admission is given when the applicant finds a host company.
    Applicants must send the signed form, “CONFIRMATION D’INTENTION D’EMBAUCHE D’UN APPRENTI."

FINAL ADMISSION IS CONFIRMED BY ECAM AFTER THE APPLICANT IS HIRED BY THE HOST COMPANY.

The number of places for this program is limited. Applicants must have their degree and be employed by their host company before starting the program. 

Tuition fees are entirely paid for by financing organizations (UIMM and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region) as well as by the Taxe Apprentissage.

Students pay a €120 service fee per year during their first two years.

Students are paid by their host company according to two different schemes: contrat d’apprentissage for students under 26 years old or formation continue for continuing education employees.

The first graduating class in 2005 quickly found their place in the workforce. These new engineers found positions as:

In the energy sector, students responsibilities mainly involve:

  • Installation: Project feasibility and economic returns studies, process optimization, energy project coordination
  • Maintenance: Organize equipment maintenance, works coordination
  • EHS: Publish and maintain practices for installation safety practices, auditing and enforcing safety standards
  • Managing teams or improvement plans
