Created in 2010, the research center of ECAM Lyon – LabECAM – is growing by welcoming a new researcher : Thomas Touret.
Develop the research activity with companies
This is a historic will of ECAM Lyon : its research teams aim to constitute an engineering resource center for companies, both for applied research studies and for activities more focused on the transfer of technology.
Thanks to the recruitment of a new researcher, LabECAM wishes to further develop its research activities with companies. For Thomas Touret, ECAM engineer with a PhD, this new position is an « extension of my research work carried out during my thesis with the company Safran Transmission Systems ».
LabECAM now has a real expertise in the field of mechanical transmissions (performance, thermal modeling, lubrication, damage simulation, predictive maintenance, thermochemical treatment, …). The LabECAM teams also work with large groups (AIRBUS, SAFRAN, NTN-SNR, VOLVO, etc.) as well as with mid-caps (REEL, REDEX, TEXELIS, …) or technical centers like the CETIM.
Combine research and transmisson of knowledge
In parallel with his research assignments at LabECAM, Thomas Touret will provide courses, practical work, including fluid mechanics and regulation, and supervised the research and development work of engineering students. « It’s a good balance ! » says Thomas.
The LabECAM in a few numbers :
- 12 doctoral students
- 632K€ of turnover
- 12 international publication / year
- 25 conferences / year
