Presentation

The integration of new digital technologies into industrial and urban environments has had a significant impact on their systems and processes. Companies are now facing cyber-attacks that can threaten the very heart of their production or control systems. Improving visibility of the risks and threats facing industrial and urban systems has become essential to ensuring business continuity. ‘Industrial cybersecurity’ is therefore a key new component of the digital sector, designed to ensure the security and integrity of production lines.

The objectives of the ‘Cybersecurity for Industrial Digital Systems’ course

To train automation engineers who have a thorough understanding of cybersecurity challenges and are able to:

  • anticipate cyber threats by improving existing systems
  • respond to cyberattacks on industrial and urban systems

Skills developed:

– Install and maintain a fleet of industrial or infrastructure control systems
– Install and maintain IT networks for industrial and urban infrastructure
– Ensure the continuity of an industrial IT system by integrating operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT)
– Promote best practice in the use of operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT), particularly with regard to cybersecurity

Programme

The Bachelor’s programme in Cybersecurity for Industrial Digital Systems provides a foundation in the management and control of industrial and urban systems and cyber risks.

Students benefit from an active and professional teaching approach. The teaching staff comprises lecturers from the professional and academic worlds who work in close collaboration with cybersecurity experts.

The teaching methodology is action-oriented, utilising group projects and problem-based learning, which places the student at the heart of the programme and aims to develop transferable skills through case studies. Find out more about the programme.

Projects

Throughout the course, students are encouraged to apply the skills acquired in class through supervised and independent projects, which form the core of the Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity for Industrial Digital Systems.

These projects are designed to help students master the principles of cybersecurity by applying industry-recognised practices to solve real-world security problems. This practical application takes the form of attack simulation exercises and the implementation of defence systems against such attacks.
