Organisé dans le cadre de la Regional Innovation Initiative portée par l’alliance ChallengeEU – Cultivating Holistic SustAinable CoLLaborations: ENGaging Excellence in European Universities, le Hackathon Genius illustre concrètement l’ambition de cette alliance européenne validée par la Commission européenne en juin 2024 dans le cadre du programme Erasmus+ Universités européennes.
ChallengeEU réunit neuf établissements d’enseignement supérieur européens engagés dans l’innovation, la recherche et le transfert de connaissances, avec une attention particulière portée au développement durable et à l’ancrage territorial. Structurée autour de trois axes prioritaires – numérique intelligent, santé et bien-être, avenirs durables – l’alliance vise à développer des parcours d’apprentissage interdisciplinaires et des réponses concrètes aux grands défis sociétaux.
C’est dans cette dynamique qu’ECAM LaSalle s’engage pleinement, en mobilisant son écosystème académique et économique pour proposer des dispositifs pédagogiques innovants, à l’image du Hackathon Genius.
Lancé en 2023, le Hackathon Genius ECAM LaSalle s’est rapidement imposé comme un rendez-vous annuel sur le campus. L’événement est organisé par le Club Genius ECAM LaSalle, club étudiant dédié à l’innovation et à l’esprit entrepreneurial, avec pour ambition de stimuler, accompagner et valoriser les initiatives innovantes au sein de l’école.
L’édition 2026 a réuni des étudiants de plusieurs établissements, ECAM LaSalle, EMLyon, ESDES, IAE de Lyon, INSEEC et MADEIn, répartis en neuf équipes de 4 à 6 participants. Cette diversité de profils a favorisé la richesse des échanges et la complémentarité des compétences tout au long du week-end.
En 24h, les équipes ont relevé le défi de concevoir une start-up prête pour le go-to-market. Le hackathon était rythmé par trois conférences animées par des intervenants experts, destinées à accompagner les participants dans la structuration de leur projet, la définition de leur proposition de valeur et la préparation de leur pitch final.
À l’issue des 24 heures, chaque équipe a présenté son projet devant un jury de professionnels, selon un format exigeant : 5 minutes de pitch suivies de 5 minutes de questions. Les projets ont été évalués sur leur caractère innovant, leur cohérence économique, leur impact sociétal et environnemental, ainsi que sur la qualité de la présentation.
À l’issue des délibérations, trois équipes se sont distinguées.
🥇ECM a remporté le 1er prix grâce à une solution innovante visant à optimiser la gestion des derniers kilomètres au sein des Zones à Faibles Émissions (ZFE).
🥈 O’FRAIS s’est hissée à la 2ᵉ place avec un projet centré sur le développement d’une chaîne du froid plus fiable et plus sûre.
🥉 EVERSTONE a complété le podium avec une approche ambitieuse visant à valoriser les gravats de démolition afin de leur donner une seconde vie et de réduire leur impact environnemental.
Avec cette 4ᵉ édition, le Hackathon Genius confirme son rôle de véritable laboratoire d’idées et de talents, au croisement de l’innovation, de l’entrepreneuriat.

ECAM LaSalle Genius Hackathon 2026: 24 hours to imagine the entrepreneurship of tomorrow
On 25 and 26 April, ECAM LaSalle hosted the 4th edition of the Genius Hackathon on its Lyon campus, a 24-hour innovation marathon dedicated to creating responsible entrepreneurial concepts. This flagship event brought together 46 students from various institutions around a common goal: to design innovative business models addressing the major challenges of the region’s digital, ecological and social transitions. This edition took place within a very specific framework, that of the European ChallengeEU alliance, reinforcing the hackathon’s regional, international and collaborative dimension.
A HACKATHON AT THE HEART OF THE EUROPEAN CHALLENGEEU ALLIANCE
Organised as part of the Regional Innovation Initiative led by the ChallengeEU alliance – Cultivating Holistic SustAinable CoLLaborations: ENGaging Excellence in European Universities – the Genius Hackathon provides a concrete illustration of the ambition of this European alliance, which was approved by the European Commission in June 2024 under the Erasmus+ European Universities programme.
ChallengeEU brings together nine European higher education institutions committed to innovation, research and knowledge transfer, with a particular focus on sustainable development and local engagement. Structured around three priority areas – smart digitalisation, health and well-being, and sustainable futures. The partnership aims to develop interdisciplinary learning pathways and practical solutions to major societal challenges.
ECAM LaSalle is fully committed to this initiative, mobilising its academic and business ecosystem to offer innovative educational events, such as the Genius Hackathon.
A COLLABORATIVE EVENT, BY AND FOR STUDENTS
Launched in 2023, the ECAM LaSalle Genius Hackathon has quickly established itself as an annual fixture on campus. The event is organised by the ECAM LaSalle Genius Club, a student club dedicated to innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit, with the aim of stimulating, supporting and promoting innovative initiatives within the school.
The 2026 edition brought together students from several institutions ECAM LaSalle, EMLyon, ESDES, IAE de Lyon, INSEEC et MADEIn, divided into nine multidisciplinary teams of 4 to 6 participants. This diversity of profiles fostered rich exchanges and complementary skills throughout the weekend.
24 HOURS TO TURN AN IDEA INTO AN ENTREPRENEURIAL PROJECT
In 24 hours, the teams rose to the challenge of designing a start-up ready for go-to-market. The hackathon featured three talks led by expert speakers, designed to help participants structure their project, define their value proposition and prepare their final pitch.
At the end of the 24 hours, each team presented their project to a jury of professionals, following a demanding format: a 5-minute pitch followed by 5 minutes of questions. The projects were assessed on their innovative nature, economic viability, societal and environmental impact, as well as the quality of the presentation.
Following the deliberations, three teams stood out.
With this fourth edition, the Genius Hackathon has confirmed its role as a true laboratory of ideas and talent, at the crossroads of innovation and entrepreneurship.
