Embedded Systems and Robotics Department

The Embedded Systems and Robotics Unit is a Teaching, Research & Development structure, resulting from the merger of the fields of industrial robotics, automation, robotics, IOT, industrial communication networks and embedded systems.

Projects

  • Connectivity of utility vehicles converted from combustion to electric: development of remote connectivity solutions (embedded acquisition system + cloud service) enabling vehicle monitoring with a view to enhancing models for electric and autonomy management or user services – R&D work for the CirculaCAR Start-Up
  • Securing of machinery and equipment for high-voltage cable burying works: development of a wireless solution for exchanging secured data between burying points several hundred meters to kilometers apart – R&D work for the company Spie Thépault
  • Development of a demonstrator for the management of an NGV (Natural Gas Vehicle) gas station open to professional and individual customers: Remote monitoring of a station and operational optimization according to operational availability, current gas stocks, customer demands and reservations – Work in association with the company GRDF
  • Design and creation of an anti-collision device for heavy and bulky loads during handling operations: specification of sensor technologies adapted to spatial situations and handling conditions; creation of a principle for the sensor network, the centralization and radio transmission of measurements; development of a POC and an onboard application for tablets offering visualization of volume and the distances surrounding the load – R&D work for the company FRAMATOME
  • Development and implementation of a teaching test bench: use of an air conditioner on a practical work platform, connected tooling and measurement – Work in association with the company LENNOX


Research

The research work carried out at the Embedded Systems and Robotics Unit explores the field of micro and nanobiotechnologies. Research focuses on the development of biosensors and bio-Lab-on-chips on micro and nanometric scales for applications in the health and environment sectors.

 

Industrial services

Relationships between the school and industrialists are built through the industrial services ECAM offers (R&D and Expertise) in the following fields:

  • Process modelling and development and/or improvement of specific regulation systems
  • Design and sizing of process control systems based on Programmable Logic Controllers (API / PLC)
  • Development of industrial computing tools and of electronic or microelectronic prototyping using a microcontroller
  • Development of connected solutions (Internet Of Things IoT, autonomous sensor networks), design of measurement systems, application and testing of telecommunication interfaces (Wifi, LoRa, Sigfox, ZigBee, etc.)
